MACA

Housed in the Casa de la Asegurada (1685), the city's oldest civil building, the Museum of Contemporary Art displays an exceptional collection of 20th-century art donated by local artist Eusebio Sempere. The modern galleries feature masterpieces by Picasso, Miró, Dalí, Juan Gris, Kandinsky, and Bacon, alongside a dedicated collection by Juana Francés. Entrance is completely free.

MARQ

Winner of the European Museum of the Year Award in 2004, the Archaeological Museum offers an interactive and educational journey through local history. Its galleries recreate daily life from Prehistory through the Iberian, Roman, Medieval, and Modern eras. It also features sections on field, urban, and underwater archaeology and regularly hosts world-class temporary exhibitions.

MUBAG

Located in the Gravina Palace (18th century) in the old town, this Fine Arts museum exhibits provincial painting and sculpture from the 16th to the early 20th centuries. It highlights works by local artists, particularly the renowned painter Emilio Varela. Its peaceful halls offer a perfect environment to appreciate classical Alicante art in a historical atmosphere.

Las Cigarreras and La Lonja

Two historic industrial spaces repurposed for contemporary and alternative culture. Las Cigarreras, in a former tobacco factory, is a vibrant community hub hosting live music, digital art, creative workshops, and independent cinema. The Lonja del Pescado is an early 20th-century fish market building on the waterfront, now a municipal hall hosting major photography and fine art exhibitions.

ADDA

The Alicante Provincial Auditorium is an impressive contemporary building renowned for its spectacular acoustics. It is the epicentre of classical and symphonic music in the province and the home of the prestigious ADDA Simfònica orchestra. Its calendar includes top-tier international classical concerts, jazz festivals, opera, and chamber music.
